There are many outside medical organizations in the Athens area that allow student volunteers. Due to the nature of these programs, groups are not allowed to volunteer, and all volunteers must register independently. For this reason, AMSA cannot provide or facilitate clinical volunteering for our members. However, we can give you these resources! Below, you can find links with information about how to get involved various medical volunteer programs in Athens.
*Note on COVID-19 impacts to volunteering: While most nursing homes and hospices are not currently offering volunteering, Piedmont Hospital and many of the Clinics listed are having in-person volunteering! If in doubt, please reach out to the organizations you are interested in to see if they offer volunteering—you will likely be surprised at how many organizations have opened volunteering back up!
