Hi AMSA!

Welcome to the website of the American Medical Student Association at the University of Georgia! We are a pre-medical organization on campus dedicated to educating, empowering, and equipping future physicians at UGA by providing pre-professional development opportunities, informational meetings, and hosting weekly service-learning opportunities through our partnerships in the local Athens-Clarke County community. We focus primarily on empowering future physicians; our mission is as follows:

The American Medical Student Association at the University of Georgia is the largest student run Pre-Medical organization on campus. Our goal is to provide resources and advice on a peer-by-peer basis, supported by an overarching national organization, in order to make our members the best future physicians and to reshape the world of medicine.

We offer a variety of events throughout the year besides our monthly general body meetings to support our members on their journey to medical school. These include workshops related to finding research, MCAT prep, and advice from current physicians, weekly service events with both medical-based and non-medical based organizations around the Athens-Clarke county community, a Mentor-Mentee program that pairs first and second year undergraduates with third and fourth years as well as each undergraduate mentor-mentee family with matriculated medical students, and more! There are also plenty of opportunities to make lifelong connections with other members through social events like Pumpkin Carving, Trivia Nights, Percentage Nights, and more! In addition, we also provide support for our members through our Mental Health Monday events, Study Hours with reserved rooms during Midterms and finals, and collaboration with the pre-health advising office.
